Nelson Cowan

Nelson Cowan ( born March 7, 1951 in Washington, DC) is an American psychologist.

Cowan mainly engaged in the working memory and its development. In 1999 he published his model of working memory " Embedded Processing Model of Working Memory". He is a professor of psychology at the University of Missouri- Columbia.

Cowan received in 1973 a Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1977 and made the master at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
