Nemanja Bjelica

Nemanja Bjelica ( Serbian Cyrillic Немања Бјелица; born 9 May 1988 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian professional basketball player. At a height of 2.09 m he can play on both forward positions, but also like a point guard lead the build-up play. Since 2013 he is with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe Ülker under contract.

After he had played in his youth for Partizan Belgrade, Bjelica was not included in the professional team of the club. Then he moved to Austria to Traiskirchen Lions. Due to problems with his visa, he was not initially eligible to play, so he was not used until the 2007/08 season. With his performances shown there he could make Svetislav Pešić attention to themselves, which is why his then club Red Star Belgrade Bjelica committed. In the 2010 NBA Draft he was selected by the Washington Wizards 35th. And they took him immediately under contract, whereupon Bjelica moved to Saski Baskonia in the ACB league. There he played a total of three years before he was taken from the Turkish club Fenerbahçe Ülker under contract.

As part of the young Serbian selection Bjelica reached the final at the European Championships 2009. Also at the 2010 World Cup and the European Championship in 2011, he took part.
