Nematicide

Nematicides are pesticides used to kill roundworms ( nematodes) and other pests living in the soil.

The nematicides include pesticides from different chemical groups, including halogenated hydrocarbons and organic phosphorus compounds. To be effective, they must be well distributed in the soil. Therefore, usually one uses fumigants, water-soluble substances.

A number of nematicides are also effective against insects and fungi.

In addition to chemical nematicides against nematodes, other methods are used, for example, biological pest control methods such as steaming or thermal methods (soil disinfection) with superheated steam come.
