Nena Cardenas
Nena Cardenas (actually Remy C. ) was a Filipino actress.
Cardenas made her screen debut in the 1948 drama " Kidlat sa Silangan " ( lightning in the east) for Premiere Production. For this studio, she starred in a dozen films, including " 48 Oras " (48 hours) with Rogelio de la Rosa.
In 1952 she turned the musical drama " Bulaklak ng Nayon " ( The field flower) and " Bakas ng Kahapon " ( Traces of the past ).
Her achievements with Sampaguita Pictures were " El Indio " ( The Indian ) and " Tres Ojos " ( Three Eyes ), both as a partner of Cesar Ramirez.
" Tomboy " 1955 was the last film of her short career, in which it was in 1951 awarded the first ever Philippine Film Awards, which was then called " Maria Clara Awards" Best Actress.
Cardenas was married to her colleague Arturo Lerma.
