Nepenthes macrophylla is a species in the genus of pitcher plants ( Nepenthes ). It was originally known as Nepenthes edwardsiana ssp. described macrophylla 1987 by J.Marabini. 1997 brought Jebb & Cheek the subspecies in the species status.
Description
Nepenthes macrophylla is attributable to the section of Nepenthes villosa and N. edwardsiana, ie the characteristics are very similar: strongly ribbed peristome (collar ), oval lid, wing bar, etc. In nature, the plants are up to 15 m long, with the shoots are always buried in the heavily overgrown moss and form side shoots. .
Dissemination
The species grows endemic to the 2600 m high Mt Trus Madi NN in northern Borneo.
