Nerd Nite is an event format in which three speakers each hold a 15- minute presentation on a topic with which they are intensively.

History

In Boston, the inventor of the Nerd Nite always went to his local pub. After he had been missing for three months, he was asked what he had done in time. He brought with him a laptop and projector, and reported on his research trip. This report was so popular that this should be repeated. From this, the Nerd Nite is born.

Expiration of a Nerdnite

Location

A Nerd Nite usually takes place in a bar atmosphere. That is, the listener can learn something during normal pub visit. However, in the meantime compromises are often made because the audience ideally all have uninterrupted views of the speakers and do not sit with your back to the speakers.

Lectures

In a typical Nerd Nite, there are three lectures that last 15 minutes each and after each presentation, a question and answer session. As the lecture is designed, the speakers are free.

Topics

In addition to the typical technology issues all threads are accepted that are hidden away from the mainstream, unless the speaker has intensively busy. Many topics have a scientific background.
