Nereta

Nereta ( German: Nerft ) is a town in the south of Latvia, located on the border with Lithuania, and is the center of the eponymous administrative unit Neretas novads.

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1298. 1711 the place due to the plague had died out. To the Good Nerft was formed today's village. Here there is an extensive moorland.
