Nergal-ushezib

Nergal - ušēzib reigned for six months in the year 693 BC when Babylonian king, after he was appointed by Hallušu - Inšušinak in his office. A year earlier it had come to clashes between Elam and Assyria in the course of an attack on Babylon, and a subsequent partial conquest.

In the spring of 693 BC conquered Nergal - ušēzib other parts of Babylonia, including Nippur. Then attacked the Assyrians and took a Uruk, which had stood so perhaps also under the rule of Nergal - ušēzib. Nergal - ušēzib fled to Elam, where he made a counter-attack. However, he was captured in the province of Nippur and brought to Assyrians. At one gate of Nineveh, he was BC hung in a cage on 26 Tašritu (14 October ) 693.
