Nete (river)

The Nete is a river in Belgium. One distinguishes the Great Nete and the Kleine Nete in the upper reaches. After the confluence of the two is called the sub -Nete, or simply from the Nete. Sometimes the term Great Nete is used. From this perspective, the Kleine Nete appears as tributary.

The Kleine Nete has its source area between the villages of Arendonk and mole de Kempen area. The Great Nete rises near Hechtel- Eksel. In Lier Large and Kleine Nete flow together. The sub -Nete finally united in Rumst with the Dyle and thus becomes the Rupel, which eventually leads opposite Rupelmonde in the Scheldt.
