NetJets is one of the world's biggest company to offer shares in business aircraft or leases them. It consists of NetJets Aviation, based in the United States and NetJets Europe, headquartered in Portugal.

Business

NetJets Aviation

NetJets emerged from the Executive Jet Aviation was founded in 1964 and in 1986 became the world's first company to hire and proportionate share ( fractional ownership) founded on business aircraft. The idea for the share purchase of aircraft by Richard Santulli, the former head of the company. It was the first project of its kind in the world. NetJets in 1998 was bought by Warren Buffett and is now part of Berkshire Hathaway.

In 2006, the company NetJets Europe generated sales of around half a billion euros. This meant a positive balance for the airline for the first time. Among the approximately 1,300 customers, was about a quarter of the largest public companies in Europe. There were 62,000 flights completed ( 33 % yoy ). For the year 2007 was expected in Germany with a growth of 60 to 70%. In addition, the fleet should grow from 114 to 138 machines in 2007.

With the introduction of the Dassault Falcon 7X in Q4 2008, a new design for interior and exterior appearance of the aircraft was designed by architect Norman Foster. This new idea should be applied in the next 2-3 years on the entire NetJets Europe fleet and adapt existing aircraft. The new design is in the form of a Zorro mask, which extends from the cockpit to the tail, was seen for the first time on a new Hawker 750, which was introduced in August 2008, the NetJets Ownern in Paris. Immediately thereafter, a Cessna Citation XLS was recorded with new colors in the fleet. The " mask " is on the Small and Medium Cabin Fleet in dark shades of gray, the Hawker 4000 light sand gray, and the large Cabin Fleet in dark blue.

In March 2009, NetJets acquired 80 percent stake in the Hesse GmbH Egelsbach Airfield, the operating company of the airport Frankfurt -Egelsbach in the Offenbach (Hessen). The aim was a complete takeover, two of the five former owners ( the community and the city of Egelsbach Langen) but were not allowed to sell following a popular vote and by decision of the Hessian Administrative Court in Kassel.

In June 2012, it was announced that NetJets has ordered a total of 425 machines from manufacturers Bombardier and Cessna. This 100 machines were ordered solid at Bombardier and another 175 provided with an option to buy. When Cessna 25 machines were ordered firmly, for another 125 there is an option. The estimated total value of the contract would be around 9.6 billion euros.

NetJets Europe

The European branch NetJets Europe is the largest airline in Europe in private aircraft. Headquartered in Paço de Arcos, near Lisbon.

As of April 2005, NetJets Europe for the product Lufthansa Private Jet Lufthansa feeder flights for both the Main Line and point-to -point connections through. The cooperation agreement ended in February 2008. Flights were no longer carried out by NetJets since mid-December 2007.

Due to the poor economic situation NetJets Europe reduced their workforce as of November 2012 at 128 captains.
