Geography

Geographical Location

Neu-Eichenberg is located in the border triangle of Hesse, Thuringia, Lower Saxony between Kassel (45 km) and Göttingen (20 km).

Neighboring communities

Neu-Eichenberg is bordered to the north by the municipality of Friedland ( in Lower Saxony's Göttingen district ), to the east by the municipalities Hohengandern and Born Hagen (both in the Thuringian district of calibration field ) and in the south and west by the town of Witzenhausen (Werra -Meißner -Kreis).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the seven places mountains, Neuenrode, Oak Mountain Station, Oak Mountain Village, Hebenshausen ( seat of the municipal administration), Hermannrode and Marzhausen and is divided into five districts mountains (mountains and Neuenrode ), Eichenberg ( Train Station and village), Hebenshausen, Hermannrode and Marzhausen.

History

The municipality of Neu-Eichenberg was created as part of the municipal reform in Hesse on February 1, 1971 through voluntary integration of the formerly independent communities mountains, Eichenberg, Hebenshausen, Hermannrode and Marzhausen.

The municipal election held 27 March 2011 yielded the following results:

Mayor

On 29 January 2012, the New Eichenberger selected Ilona Rohde- Erfurth (SPD ) with 66.0 % of the vote for the new mayor. They won against the non-party Christian Mühlhausen, who received 34.0 % of votes. Incumbent Wolfgang Fischer did not run.

Traffic

The Eichenberger station is the hub of the old north-south route (See: Railway Bebra -Göttingen ) and the Halle- Kassel Railway, there are connections to Kassel, Göttingen, Erfurt and Fulda. These are served by regional trains of Deutsche Bahn AG, the cantus and the Erfurt railway. The transfer takes place not accessible.

Of special importance was the place by the " German Unity Transport Project " rail 6 Eichenberg - Halle ( Saale).
