Neuberend

Neuberend (Danish: Ny Bjernt ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein. It has been certified as an environmentally friendly community in 1996.

Geography and transport

Neuberend located about 5 km north of Schleswig on long lake. To the south runs the federal highway 201 from Husum to Kappeln, west of the Federal Highway 7 from Schleswig to Flensburg.

The structure according to Neuberend is a street village where there are many residential areas due to the proximity of Schleswig.

History

On 1 January 2007 the municipality Neuberend came out with the neighboring community Idstedt from office Schuby and joined as part of the Schleswig-Holstein reform of administrative structures with the communities of offices Tolk and Böklund to the Official Südangeln based in Böklund together.

Policy

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council have since the local elections of 2013, the SPD and the CDU three, voters Community KWN five and the SSW two seats.

Blazon: " Argent, a blue oblique wave beams, accompanied up of a green oak branch, down from an inward -turned, tilted, toppled red heath Sense and a slanted red Torfspaten. "

The territory of Neuberend is varied divided by old oak trees, which are represented by the oak branch in 1986 coat of arms approved, and by numerous smaller watercourses and lakes. For the latter, the wave beam is in blazon. The village is a relatively new settlement, which has been applied in the vicinity of earlier village Berend. Middle of the 18th century were reported 21 colonists places on the Berender Heath and summarized Neuberend to the village. The heathland was made gradually reclaimed by the colonists. The heath Sense in the arms pointing to the hard work of the settlers in the early stages of the colony " Berender Heide" ( Neuberend ) out of Torfspaten similarly to the laborious extraction of peat in the bog.

In the list of cultural monuments in Neuberend are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments.

Education and Sports

Neuberend has a kindergarten, a paintball hall, three tennis courts and two soccer fields and a gymnasium was built in 2003, the world's first sports hall in passive house construction.
