Neudorf-Bornstein

Neudorf- Bornstein (Danish: Nytorp - Bornstein; Low German: Niedörp -Born Steen ) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein on the peninsula Danish Wahld. The municipality covers besides the two eponymous villages, the old freight Behrens Brook and Rothstein and numerous smaller yards.

Geography and transport

Neudorf- Bornstein is located about 8 km southeast of Eckenförde on the main road 76 to Kiel.

History

From 1967 to 1970 so-called princely graves were excavated in the municipality. These are the graves of members of a high-ranking Germanic population from the younger Roman Empire ( 3rd century AD).

Policy

Since the local elections in 2013, the CDU and the SPD seven four seats in the municipal council.
