Neudorf, Lucerne

Neudorf ( dialect Nüderef ) was until December 31, 2012, a municipality in the canton of Lucerne Sursee in Switzerland. On 1 January 2013 merged with Neudorf Beromunster

Geography

The village is located south of Beromunster in Wynental. For the former municipality of southern hamlet of Gormund part (740 m asl), the airfield north of it lying Beromunster, as well as numerous hamlets and groups of houses.

Neudorf excluded ( from the north clockwise ) to Beromunster, Römerswil, Hildisrieden, Sempach and calibration.

Population

The population rose from 1798 to 1860 slightly ( from 1798 to 1860: 6.1 %). After a period of mass migration towards the industrial centers, which lasted until 1900 (: -26.6 % from 1860 to 1900 ) began. Thus, the lowest population level was reached. Apart from two burglaries between 1920 and 1930 as well as 1950 and 1960 the population grew steadily in the 20th century ( from 1900 to 1950: 21.3 % from 1950 to 2000: 33.8 %). Since the population peak in 2000 with 1,058 inhabitants, it is stagnating at this level.

Languages

The population used as everyday language, a high- Alemannic dialect. At the last census in 2000 gave 94.90% German, 2.08 % Albanian and Serbo-Croatian at 0.57% as the main language.

Religions - faiths

Previously, all the inhabitants were members of the Roman Catholic Church. By leaving the church and immigration from other regions in Switzerland and abroad, this has changed. Today ( as of 2000) provides for the religious composition as follows: there are 80.43 % Roman Catholic and Evangelical Protestant Christians 9.74%. In addition, one finds 4.63% and 2.46 % non-religious Muslims. The Muslims are almost all Albanian origin.

Origin - Nationality

Of the 1,076 inhabitants, the end of 2006 were 991 Swiss and 85 ( = 7.9%) foreigners. At the last census, 89.04 % were (including dual citizens 91,30 % ) Swiss nationals. The largest immigrant groups come from Serbia and Montenegro (mainly Albanians, but also Slavs ), Italy, Germany and Croatia.

History

The community was divided originally from Gunzwil. It is first mentioned in 893 as Niwidorf in a list of places of interest-bearing woman Münster Abbey Zurich. The Counts of Lenzburg bought the place in the second half of the 10th century. You have left the rule the pen Beromunster.
