Neuenkirchen, Anklam-Land

New Churches is a community southwest of Anklam. It is administered by the Office Anklam country located in the municipality Spantekow. Until 1 January 2005, the village belonged to the Official Spantekow.

Geography and transport

New churches located two kilometers south of the main road 199 The city of Anklam is located about ten kilometers north-east. The Federal Highway 20 is accessible via the connection Jarman (approx. 27 km). The municipality is situated on the New Churches Peene- south canal.

History

New churches

New churches were in 1299 named as " Nigenkerken " documentary.

Müggenburg

Mügge castle was mentioned in 1331 as " Mughenborgh ". As " Mügge " a the bog -reaching headland was called on the then such castles were settled as natural protection. History shaped the location is the Wasserburg Müggenburg ( qv) with its medieval tower, which was rebuilt by a modern castle. The estate owned by the family of New Churches ( Nienkerken ), and later the families of Lepel, Schwerin and cock in his possession were. In 1945 the estate was owned by Karl Friedrich Holtz.
