The old cemetery of Neuilly -sur -Seine (French ancien Cimetière de Neuilly ) in the département of Hauts -de -Seine is located on the " Rue Victor- Noir". The relatively small cemetery is famous for its tombs with sculptures, busts and medallions from the 19th century.

History

The cemetery was opened in 1803. They call him the "old cemetery " because he had to be replaced by a larger one. In 1884, the wealthy but small -scale Parisian suburb of Neuilly -sur -Seine community, an area in the neighboring village of Puteaux, which was later extended beyond the municipal boundary to Nanterre. In these two communities is the new cemetery of Neuilly ( Cimetière nouveau de Neuilly ). The old cemetery was abandoned officially on November 7, 1919. Yet burials continue to take place there.
