History

In Urfanger wood six mounds were found from the Roman period, two of which were open.

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria.

This region has many myths and legends, for example, " The beet King". In this legend is about a poor peasant name Clemens turnip, who got his days just to eat beets. When he had completed his 18th year, he married ermine of otters, who was a wealthy princess. Her father the king was only A. H. mentioned. He was sorcerer, so he bewitched Clemens, who was condemned henceforth to peel beets for his Gemahlind and its horrors ruler Robert the Terrible. But then came the dragon, and the blood was shed. He was killed and that of a newborn. Such legends are many, even if they do not always correspond to the truth.
