The station Neunkirchen (Saar ) Hbf is the main station of the district town of Neunkirchen ( Saar) in Saarland. Here cross the railway lines Saarbrücken and Homburg Bingen -Illingen.

History

In July 1850, the " Saarbrücken railway" Bexbach began to Saarbrücken with the construction of the first Neunkircher station in the course of construction. On 15 November 1850, the railway station for the freight of the Palatine Ludwig Railway was opened. The first passenger trains ran from April 1851 daily from Ludwigshafen and back. The station itself was opened on the 15th or November 16th, 1852. On this day the route Neunkirchen Saarbrücken was inaugurated. Eight years later, on 25 May 1860, completed in the current situation with the commissioning of the double-track from the beginning Rhein-Nahe train a new reception building, the so-called " Near train station ". The old, from 1850 originating station was completely demolished in the sequence.

Already on September 7, 1850, the first coal train on Neunkirchen has been covered on the branch line of Heinitz ( Neunkirchen ). 1872 followed the railway line to the pit king. On October 15, 1879, the single-track line after Wemmetsweiler was put into operation, which in 1891 was expanded to two tracks.

Between 1910 and 1922 the station was rebuilt facility. In 1912 (now Sinnerthal ) a new marshalling yard in the area Schlawerie. In December 1914, the subways and the 5 platforms were ready. By the outbreak of war on 1 August 1914, the new building of the station building delayed considerably. In 1923 the building was finished, which was considered at that time as the most beautiful railway station of the railway department of the Saarland. 1937, the daily car cover was over 3000 cars. There was at the same time 17 sidings.

On 27 May 1944, the station was badly damaged during an air raid. The station building was badly damaged. Only the right pavilion remained largely undamaged. On March 21, 1945 Neunkirchen was reached by American troops. Reconstruction began and the railway traffic was resumed. 31 May 1945 reversed between Neunkirchen and Türkismühle the first scheduled passenger trains. Since the distance between Saarbrücken and Homburg was very badly damaged, the less solid affected route to Neunkirchen Saarbrücken ( Sulzbach and Fischbachtalstrecke ) was repaired and sail again on 25 June 1945. Further routes were Neunkirchen- Homburg ( Homburg without Hauptbahnhof ) and Neunkirchen- Bad Kreuznach.

It was not until the end of 1947, the heavily damaged Neunkircher station was then rebuilt. The left wing was rebuilt and the roof completely redone. The previously running separate building lobby and gazebo were now connected by a hipped roof together into a structure. In the following years, only slight architectural changes on the exterior and in the interior space design were made. Otherwise, the building has been preserved in this form until today.

Due to the heavy industrialization of Neunkirchen by the coal mines and the cottage of the station played a major role. In 1955 there were up to 275 daily on incoming and outgoing passenger trains, including 4 fast trains. The number of freight trains was very high. In November 1965, two new track image signal boxes were in operation and came off 10 old signal boxes. From the interlocking " Nof " the signals from Bexbach were remotely controlled to Dudweiler.

On 13 May 1966, the electric train operation began in Neunkirchen on the route from Wemmetsweiler to Homburg. 1963 Freight transport by Heinitz was set in 1970 of the total traffic to the pit king.

On November 25, 2011, there arrived at Neunkirchen Hauptbahnhof to protests against the Castor transports. While only a few people need to have taking part in the vigil, but seven teenagers were arrested who allegedly tried to block the tracks. One 41 - year-old woman was also charged with resisting law enforcement officers.
