Neurazy

Neurazy ( German Neuras ) is a municipality with 820 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Nepomuk and belongs to Okres Plzeň -jih. The land area is 2584 ha

Geography

Neurazy is located 488 m above sea level. M. at the northwestern foot of a chain of hills, the highest elevations are Kopaninách V ( 674 m) and Vlčí jáma ( 649 m). Through the village leads the state road 187 from Nepomuk to Plánice.

Neighboring towns are Klikařov in the north, Soběsuky in the northeast, and Kolna Kramolín in the east, in the southeast Polánka, Pohoří and Blizanovy in the south, Mlýnské Struhadlo in the southwest, and Radochovy in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Neurazy comes from 1551st The place at an old passageway leading from Prague to Rome, however, is much older and was one of the villages destroyed in 1421 the monastery Pomuk. On Platena hora between Nová Ves and Vojovice there were in 1419 and 1424 bearing the Hussites.

The Church in Neurazy was until 1772 a branch church of Myslív and was then raised to Expositur. 1789 lived in the village for the 550 people and up to 1910, their number had increased to 728. 1910, the two-class village school to teach, to the children of Blizanovy, Klikařov and Vojovice visited.

1913 a new church was built, which was consecrated two years later as a church of the third rank. Between 1921 and 1922 the Prague company built " Česká Dřevařská společnost " east of the village, a sawmill, which provided 30 jobs. The saw has long been the only operation in the village and the residents suffered great hardship before. Many young people went away and were based in Vienna, Pilsen and Prague, about 1900 Saxony was reinforced to the destination of the emigrants, mainly Chemnitz or Mittweida attracted.

After the Second World War, the infrastructure has been improved in the village and it emerged holiday homes. 1985 was a summer theater with 520 seats on the outskirts.
