Neuroprotection

Neuroprotection is an attempt to nerve cells and nerve fibers to preserve by pharmacological or molecular biological methods from dying. Goal of neuroprotection is to retard disease progression and thereby improve the quality of life of those affected. The 1998 coined by Ira Shoulson definition of the term " pharmacological interventions did produce endurig benefits by Favourable Influencing underlying etiology or pathogenesis and thereby forestalling onset of disease or clinical decline" has validity today.
