Neuschoo

Neuschoo is a municipality in the district Holtriem Witt mouth in Lower Saxony. The community had in 2004 about 1,200 inhabitants and covers an area of ​​14.47 square kilometers. It borders ( clockwise from the west) to the municipalities Westerholt, Utarp, Schweindorf and Ochtersum (all also in the Samtgemeinde Holtriem ), the community Moorweg ( Samtgemeinde Esen ), the community Blomberg (again Samtgemeinde Holtriem ) and on the south by the Auricher Districts Dietrichsfeld and Tannenhausen.

In Neuschoo one of the first communities of today's United Methodist Church in Germany in 1868 with the inauguration of the Bethlehem church founded as a subsidiary of a German Methodist Community in America.

The Dutch Mill Neuschoos, which also carries a compass rose, was erected in 1921 in place of another mill.

Parish council

The Council of the Municipality Council Neuschoo consists of 11 women and councilors. This is the set number for the member community of integrated municipality with a population of 1001-2000 people. The 11 Women Council and councilors are elected by a municipal election for five years. The current term of office began on 1 November 2011.

The council chose the municipal councilor Holger Heymann (SPD ) for honorary mayor for the current parliamentary term.

The turnout in the local elections of 2011 was 51.20 %, slightly below the Lower Saxony average of 52.5 %. For comparison - in the previous local elections on 10 September 2006, the turnout was 59.34 %.
