History
Originally it was not Neusorg parish seat but the place Black Reuth. Neusorg itself is still very young. It was founded by in 1535. Since the mid-17th century was operated there until 1854 mining. Until then Neusorg was still a small settlement only by the construction of the railway line Nuremberg - Cheb began a rapid local development. On September 17, 1949, the former municipality Black Reuth was renamed community Neusorg. Neusorg had achieved mainly through the construction of railways and by refugees after the Second World War, a much larger population than black Reuth. Black Reuth belongs to the municipality since Neusorg.
Religions
Neusorg is mostly Catholic. The first clergyman came on 1 August 1930 following Neusorg ( Expositus Joseph Losch ). On 1 September 1946, the foundation stone was laid to the parish church, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God. There is also a small Protestant church in the village.
Incorporations
On 1 January 1978, until then independent municipality Riglasreuth was incorporated. On May 1, 1978 was followed by parts of the territory of the dissolved municipality Oberwappenöst.
Spin-offs
On 1 January 1978 Neusorg entered an area with about 100 residents from the city Waldershof.

Parish council
Result of the local elections 2008: Mayor, after runoff Peter King (SPD ) with 701 votes ( 52.87 %). The turnout was 80.64 %. Council election: CSU: 7 seats ( 50.00 %) SPD: 4 seats ( 28.57% ) ÜWG: 2 seats ( 16.00% ) FDP: 1 seat ( 7.14% )
Coat of arms
Blazon: Under black battlements main shield in gold on two diagonally crossed black Reuthauen half a jumping deer. The community leads the coat of arms since 1980.
Twinning
Since June 1, 1991, a partnership between the community and Neusorg Skalná in the Czech Republic.
