Nevada County (Arkansas)
The Nevada County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Prescott. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.
Geography
The County is located in the central southwest Arkansas, is located in the south about 50 miles from Louisiana and has an area of 1,608 square kilometers, of which two square miles are water. It is bordered by the following counties:
History

The Nevada County was formed on March 20, 1871 from parts of Columbia County, of Hempstead County and the Ouachita County. It was named after the eponymous state of Nevada.
Demographic data
According to the census in 2010 lived in Nevada County 8,997 people in 4,595 households. The population density was 5.6 people per square kilometer.
The racial the population was composed of 65.9 percent white, 30.7 percent African American, 0.3 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.4 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity were 2.4 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
In the 4,595 households lived statistically 2.01 per person.
23.5 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 59.8 percent were between 18 and 64 and 16.7 percent were 65 years or older. 51.0 percent of the population was female.
