Nevio De Zordo

Nevio De Zordo ( born March 11, 1943 in Cibiana di Cadore, Belluno, † March 26, 2014 in Cadore ) was an Italian bobsledder.

Nevio De Zordo comes from a family of " gelatieri " ( Eismachern ). In 1959 she emigrated to Cologne, there to sell ice cream. During the winter the family spent in the traditional Italian home in the Dolomites, so that De Zordo could train bobsleigh racing in Cortina d' Ampezzo.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo De Zordo won the silver medal in four-man bobsled. In 1969 he became world champion in two-man bobsleigh and 1970 in four-man bobsled. In addition, he was twice vice-champion in 1964 and European champion in the two-man bobsleigh.

40 years operational Nevio De Zordo with his family ice-cream shops in Cologne- Suelz. Most recently he ran a cafe on the premises of the University of Cologne.

De Zordo found his last resting at the Cologne Melaten Cemetery.
