New Deal (United Kingdom)

As New Deal of the 1930s was the labor market policies of the Labour government in Britain in 1998 referred in accordance with the American New Deal. Their goal was to reduce unemployment by offering training, public funding of jobs and voluntary work to achieve by the unemployed.

Programs

New Deal was originally designed to influence the youth unemployment (18 - to 24 -year-old ). There are now programs for other groups:

  • New Deal for Young People ( NDYP ) - for unemployed young people ( aged 18-24 ),
  • New Deal 25 for adults (aged 25 ) who are unemployed,
  • New Deal for Lone Parents - Single parents with children of school age,
  • New Deal for Disabled - support recipients of disability pension to return to work,
  • New Deal 50 for people in the age group 50 years and older.
  • New Deal for Musicians - for aspiring unemployed musicians
