New Era Cap Company

The New Era Cap Company is a manufacturer of headwear, headquartered in Buffalo. The company was founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch, a übergesiedelten Germans. New Era is the exclusive manufacturer of baseball hats that are worn in Major League Baseball from each team during the games. In addition, manufactures Merchandise New Era Caps for Marvel and DC Comics.

The products are sold both in stores of retail chains as well as via third parties. Since 2006 there own stores in New York and Buffalo. In 2007, stores added in London, Toronto and Atlanta. The first store in Germany opened in July 2008 in Berlin. A year after the opening of flagship stores in London opened in Birmingham, the second shop in England.

New Era Hats produces various models, including the 59Fifty, 9FIFTY, 49Forty, 39Thirty, and 29Twenty. The most popular model is the 59Fifty, which is mostly worn in the hip-hop and skater scene. The 39Thirty is also the model that is supported by the MLB teams during the season games.
