New Haven Senators

The New Haven Senators were an American ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League from New Haven, Connecticut. The venue for the Senators was the New Haven Coliseum.

History

The New Haven Nighthawks went to the 1991/92 season a cooperation with the newly established Ottawa Senators, their farm team in the American Hockey League they were then. For this reason the franchise in New Haven was renamed Senators. Played under this name was the team in the 1992/93 season in the AHL active and missed in his first and only season, the playoffs for the Calder Cup as the fifth in the North Division. Already after one year moved his Ottawa farm team in the Canadian town of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland to where it Edward Iceland Senators in the AHL was henceforth active as Prince.

The gap left by the New Haven in Connecticut senator was of the two AHL clubs Beast of New Haven (1997-1999) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (since 2001), as the New Haven Knights of the United Hockey League ( 2000 - 2002) filled.
