History

In May 1973, Ralf Brent bought the New York Raiders and renamed it New York Golden Blades to. He took with Jerry DeLise a new Managing Director. Soon, the two discovered, however, which is why the previous owner wanted to leave the team necessarily. High rental costs for the Madison Square Garden and low viewing figures were also the new owner 's undoing, so that the WHA disbanded the team and for the transitional period, a team in New Jersey installed until next season. There it played under the name Jersey Knights.

The club played in the 4,000 -seat Cherry Hill Arena. Although André Lacroix with 111 points played a brilliant season, the Knights finished the season as the last of their group. Already on January 3, 1974 Barry Schwartz bought the WHA from the team and moved with the team on 30 April 1974 after California. There, the team played from the following season as San Diego Mariners still for three more years.
