New Mexico State University
The New Mexico State University ( NMSU also called ) is a state university in Las Cruces, New Mexico. At the University 2005 26.400 students were enrolled. The NMSU is especially known for its research and teaching in the field of space.
In addition to its main campus in Las Cruces, the NMSU branches maintains in Alamogordo (2,000 students), Carlsbad ( 1,200 students ) and Dona Ana and an office in Albuquerque.
History
The university was founded in 1888 under the name New Mexico A & M College.

The sports team of NMSU are the Aggies. The University is a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
