New Mosque (Istanbul)

The New Mosque ( Yeni Cami Turkish ) is located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, near the Spice Bazaar, almost on the shore, at the southeast end of the Golden Horn at the southern end of the new Galata Bridge. Architectural History

The contract for the construction of the " New Mosque " was issued in 1597 by Safiye Sultan. She laid the foundation stone for the construction of the mosque.
