New Party (Argentina)

Partido Nuevo ( officially: Partido Nuevo Contra la corrupción, por la honestidad y la Transparencia - New party against corruption, for the honesty and transparency) is an Argentine regional party of the province of Córdoba.

The party was founded in 2003 and is ideologically inconsistent positions. It is the main actor in the electoral alliances Alianza Frente Frente Civico and Nuevo and part of the nationwide alliance Frente Amplio Progresista.

History

The party was founded for the purpose of the earlier to procure the Partido Justicialista (PJ) nationals, popular politician Luis Juez after his party outlet 2002, a platform for the mayoral election in late 2003 in the city of Córdoba. This won the election confidently with about 60% of the valid votes against the candidate of the PJ, Alfredo Keegan. After the election, which was connected with elections to the provincial and the national parliament, the Partido Nuevo established initially as the second strongest force in the province behind the PJ and introduced a number of members in the Argentine National Congress.

2007 became the party in an election union with the Partido Socialista, the Frente Civico, with its candidate Daniel Giacomino again the mayor's office in Córdoba. The gubernatorial election was by Luis Juez just 1.1 percent residue against the candidate of the Partido Justicialista, Juan Schiaretti lost. Because of numerous irregularities Juez fought the election and was supported by many politicians at the state level, including Roberto Lavagna and the party ARI. However, the Justice rejected a re-examination of the election results and confirmed the victory Schiarettis.

In the 2011 gubernatorial election as a candidate of the Partido Juez lost Nuevo again against the PJ, José Manuel de la Sota had stood as candidates, but the party remained almost second strongest force in the provincial parliament. Lost was also the mayor's office in the city of Córdoba; the PN candidate Esteban Domina reached only 7.77%.

Importance in the province of Córdoba

At the provincial level, the party since 2003, on par with the UCR, the leading opposition party Partido Justicialista to. Their importance, however, is geographically very uneven; so it was in the capital of Córdoba itself, and most places of the conurbation the strongest force, while it is only the third- strongest force behind PJ and UCR in large parts of the interior. The party allied itself in 2007 with parts of the UCR in order to have more chances of success in the provincial elections. This alliance was rejected by the great majority of UCR.

Statewide Importance

The activities of the party at the state level are mixed. Was she an ally in the early days with the government of Néstor Kirchner, as their leaders distanced from mid-2007 by the Argentine president. 2007 supported the party Elisa Carrio as a presidential candidate, Hermes Binner 2011.

Since 2007, the party split into two wings; so the circle to Daniel Giacomino has the Frente para la Victoria connected ( Giacomino since 2011 deputy for the alliance ), while the original core to Luis Juez be merged with the Socialists and a few other small parties to the center -left alliance Frente Amplio Progresista.
