New Tricks - The crime specialists (Original Title: New Tricks) is a British crime series of the BBC from 2003 in which it comes to a newly formed special unit of Scotland Yard called UCOS ( Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad ) that deals with unsolved cases (Cold Cases) busy.

Content

Head of the department 's Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman ( Amanda Redman ), which is "parked" as a career woman here, after having nationwide media protests triggered by the shooting of a dog during a hostage rescue.

When subordinates are assigned to her three now retired former detective:

• Ex Detective Chief Superintendent Jack Halford ( James Bolam ), her former boss and mentor, who (usually only at present in the home garden grave ) with his late wife speaks
• Ex Detective Inspector Brian Lane ( Alun Armstrong ), a man with a phenomenal memory (nicknamed "Memory Lane " ) and the ability to promote from dusty records revealed minimal details that are often critical to the investigation of the case. Lane was sent into early retirement after a detainee died under his supervision and suffering since then a wide variety of neuroses and other mental health problems (not least a tendency to dress more like a homeless person )
• Ex Detective Sergeant Gerry Standing ( Dennis Waterman, also known in Germany from the series The foxes and the watchdogs ), once one of the most feared detectives from Scotland Yard, where his loose handling of criminals who make up a large part of his circle of acquaintances, at that time was the undoing because he had to leave the service on corruption charges. Standing is also a womanizer who was married three times and manages to have his three ex-wives a good relationship

Production and publication

The series is produced by the BBC and Wall to Wall Television since 2003. As with the guard Dennis Waterman singing the theme song for this series. The soundtrack is by Steve Edis.

In the UK, nine seasons of the series have now been sent at the BBC, which had been published, all in the original version on DVD. The tenth season will be broadcast since July 2013. In ZDF is so far only the pilot episode of the first season synchronized on 6 February 2005 been shown. Since September 2013, the station Servus TV shows the series in Austria and Germany. In addition, there was a broadcast in Finland.
