New World Resources

The New World Resources is a mining company that operates several coal mines in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian coalfield ( Moravian-Silesian Region ). The subsidiary OKD degrades the coal, OKK Koksovny is a major producer of foundry coke and NWR Karbonia opens two new coal mines at Dębieńsko and Morcinek ( place ) in Poland. 2012 has shed 11.2 million tons of coal and 81 Mt of proven reserves has the NWR. The production costs were in 2012 at 81 € per tonne. Since 2008 the company is a public limited company listed on the stock exchanges London, Prague and Warsaw.

Market power

The NWR has coking coal at a market share of 25 % in Central Europe. There are steel mills in Poland (2), Germany ( 3), Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia ( Trzynietz, Linz, Dunaújváros, Košice, 1 ) supplies of coking coal.
