The Jets have their headquarters in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The home games will be played in MetLife Stadium, which is the league unique, with another team, the New York Giants, divided.

The team was founded in 1959 as the Titans of New York and was one of the founding members of the American Football League ( AFL). The first home games were played in the Polo Grounds stadium. Following a change of ownership in 1963 the team name was changed to New York Jets and played the games at Shea Stadium. The first and only Super Bowl title the New York Jets dated from 1969, where they were able to beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. The team was a member of the NFL by the union of the NFL and AFL in 1970. As of 1984, the home games of the Jets were held at Giants Stadium before we moved into the MetLife Stadium in 2010.

The Jets played in 1968 in the famous " Heidi Game" ( 32:43 against the Oakland Raiders ), in which the NBC broke the game broadcast at the score of 32:29 and the children's film Heidi returns home showed, so that the TV audience the two load minute touchdowns the Raiders missed. Involuntarily attended the Jets that since all football broadcasts are aired in full length.
