New York State Route 170

The New York State Route 170 (NY 170 ) is a 11.80 km long extending in a north-south direction State Route Herkimer County, New York, in the United States. It begins at the NY 29 in Fairfield and ends at the NY 169 in Little Falls. The only other cross with a signposted State Road is the one with the NY 170A, a branch line within Fairfield. NY 170 was created in 1930 and has since remained without change.

Route description

NY 170 begins as East Monroe Street in Little Falls, at the junction with North Ann Street and West Monroe Street, over NY 169 runs. The route goes first in an eastern direction on the northern edge of Little Falls along before she bends after about 800 m to the north and climb a steep hill. Then it passes the local golf course and leaves the area of the city. In Fairfield is the diversion of NY 170 from its branch line, the NY 170A before the NY 170 at the intersection with NY 29 ends.

History

The entire course of NY 170 was determined as part of the 1930 renumbering of state Routes were made in New York. A branch line was designated as NY 170A in the area of Fairfield a year later.

NY 170A is a 4.75 km long branch route of NY 170, the latter is connected to the hamlet of Salisbury, where it ends at the NY 29.
