About 80 percent of the vineyard is still planted with the idiosyncratic, local indigenous descendants of American Vitis labrusca vines of wild family. Most Popular is the grape Concord. The rest is French hybrid vines and early maturing precious vines from the family of Vitis vinifera ( Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, ... ). In particular, the last 30 years observed trend towards more noble grapes resulted in a significant improvement in quality of the wines.
