Newbury Township is one of sixteen townships of Geauga County, Ohio, United States. At the 2000 census, 5,805 people lived in Newbury.
Geography
Newbury Township, Geauga County's center of about 50 kilometers away from downtown Cleveland. The surface of the township is 74 square kilometers. At Ohio State Route 87, which runs from east to west through the township, industrial and commercial businesses are located.

History
Newbury Township was part of the Connecticut Western Reserve. Originally Lake County and Geauga County were united in a single county, after the establishment of Geauga County, this was divided into 16 townships. 1802 Newbury was the fifth township in the County, which was established as a separate administrative unit. 1810, the first settlers from the eastern states of the United States, especially from Connecticut and Massachusetts came into the country. Newbury was named to Newburyport in Massachusetts.
