Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly

The Chamber of Deputies of Newfoundland and Labrador (English Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly, French Chambre d' Assemblée de Terre -Neuve -et- Labrador ) is the legislature of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It meets in the Confederation Building in St. John's.

The House of Representatives has 48 members, who are elected in as many constituencies by majority voting system. The leader of the majority party is the same as the Prime Minister and is the Executive Council ( engl. executive council, French conseil exécutif ) designated government before.

The three main tasks of the Chamber of Deputies are the adoption of new laws, approving the state budget and the government's control.
