Newgate

Newgate was a gate in the west of the medieval walled city of London. It was between the more western city gate Ludgate and the eastern Aldersgate. From 1188 to 1902 was at the infamous Newgate Newgate Prison. Now, at this point the Tribunal " Old Bailey ".

The Newgate Street is located north of Saint Paul's Cathedral. In the west, it leads to Holborn Viaduct and the east it merges into Cheapside.
