Newport County (Rhode Island)

Newport County is a county located in the state of Rhode Iceland to the United States. In 2010, the County had 82 888 inhabitants and a population density of 308 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Newport.


The county has an area of ​​812 square kilometers, of which 543 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered on the east by Bristol County.


Newport County was founded in 1703 as Rhode Iceland County and renamed in 1729 to Newport County.
