News (newspaper)

News (in-house writing in capital letters NEWS ) was a Swiss free newspaper published daily. She served as a complement to the Tages-Anzeiger.

It was published on 5 December 2007 to 4 December 2009 and became like other daily newspapers available in newspaper boxes at intersections of public transport.

News was founded by Tamedia ( Tages-Anzeiger ), whose subsidiary Espace Media Groupe ( Berner Zeitung ) and the Basler Zeitung Medien. There expenditure for Zurich, Bern, Basel, and the Central Plateau were produced, the latter represented a foray into the market for the Mittelland -Zeitung. The output for the Central Plateau was set to 8 December 2008, this mainly due to the situation in the advertising market and the orientation of the Central Plateau to the three centers Basel, Zurich and Bern. Therefore, a large part of the Central Plateau output went up again in the expenditure of the three cities.

On August 24, 2009, Espace Media and the Basler Zeitung Medien announced that they have sold their shares to Tamedia. Spending Bern and Basel were set on 28 August 2009. Employees were not fired. News was published as of this date only in the Zurich area. On 4 December 2009, the Zurich edition was discontinued.

The circulation was 100,000 copies.
