Newt
As newts different, not necessarily more closely related amphibian species from different families of the order Caudata are called ( Caudata or Urodela ). They are similar in that they at least temporarily as adult animals - live in the water and to develop to the tail fin edges top and bottoms - to reproduce.
Word origin
The word pig can be detected since the 15th century and derives from the Middle High German mol, molle, which originally designated salamanders in general. Today, only those salamanders that have in their ( sub-) habitat waters over a Flossensaum, referred to as newts. Others with more terrestrial lifestyle other hand, are often called Salamander. Some species of salamander in the name, however, can other pigs systematically are closer than other salamanders. And also many newts spend part of the year on land; their tails are no longer laterally flattened at this time, but roundish.
