Newtype (magazine)

Newtype (Japanese月刊 ニュー タイプ, Gekkan nyūtaipu, dt " monthly Newtype " ) is a Japanese magazine Kadokawa Shoten of the publisher, which is published monthly. It includes individual chapters of manga series as well as articles about anime and manga, to a lesser extent science fiction and computer games. It has been published since March 1985. A Korean issue will be published in South Korea, but mainly the offshoot NewtypeUSA appeared in the United States.

Content

The magazine contains several columns and individual articles about the anime and manga industry. Among the authors are Satsuki Igarashi, Mahiro Maeda and Gilles Poitras. In addition an anime and science fiction television program and announcements of shows and movies.

Among the articles are single chapter of manga series, including Neon Genesis Evangelion and were The five star stories as well as several works by the artist group Clamp. Furthermore, also appear Light Novels.

Related Magazines

Several series have been moved to sister magazines from the magazine Newtype program. These include Newtype Hero and NewWords, which are aimed at a specific audience. There are also several theme-specific magazines that only occasionally appeared as Clamp Newtype.

International Editions

As of July 1999, a Korean version of the magazine will be published in South Korea, the translated article from the Japanese Newtype contains articles and to the Korean market and their own series. From November 2002 to February 2008 an English edition of the magazine was published in the U.S. in ADVision together with ADV Films and ADV Manga.
