Next Generation Air Transportation System

Next Generation Air Transportation System ( NextGen ) is in the aviation industry of the United States, an initiative of the JPDO (Joint Planning and Development Office ) for the modernization of air traffic management (german air traffic management, ATM) through the use of satellite- based systems. In this case, future procedures are in accordance with safety aspects and environmental requirements. Both the model and the requirements for an improved ATM system have important similarities with the European aerospace project SESAR.
