NGC 2423-3 b

NGC 2423-3 b is an exoplanet that orbits the red giant NGC 2423-3 all 714 days. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet.

Discovery

As the majority of exoplanets was also discovered that using the radial velocity method. The planet was by Michel Mayor et al. discovered in 2007.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of about 2.1 astronomical units and has a mass of about 3370 Earth masses, or 10.6 Jupiter masses.
