Ngerekebesang Island

Arakabesan, also called Ngerekebesang, is a small island in the western Pacific Ocean; it belongs geographically to the Palau Islands and administratively to the state Koror Island Republic of Palau.

The approximately 2.3 square kilometers and densely forested island is located 600 meters northwest of the island of Koror, with which it is connected by a bridge. Main place of Arakabesan is Meyungs on the east coast.

To the west of the island consists mostly tourist recreational facilities and hotel facilities that were built after 1980. The most north-western part of Arakabesan is not inhabited. Here is the 85 meter high Desomel. The highest elevation of the island, however, is the Roiskebesang in the south with 110 meters above sea level.
