NHL General Manager of the Year Award

The NHL General Manager of the Year Award is an ice hockey award of the National Hockey League. It has been awarded annually since 2010 to the general manager of a franchise that has proven over the course of each season as the most capable. The election shall be held under the total of 30 general managers in the league.

This is decided by a 40 - member panel consisting of these 30 managers, and each 5 representatives of the NHL and the media, about the award of the prize.

The first winner of the award was Don Maloney of the Phoenix Coyotes, who was able to prevail in the final round against George McPhee of the Washington Capitals and David Poile of the Nashville Predators.
