Ni Yulan

Ni Yulan (Chinese倪玉兰, Pinyin Ní Yulan, born March 24, 1960) is a Chinese lawyer and civil rights activist. Because of their commitment to the victims of land expropriation she was repeatedly arrested and sentenced to long prison sentences.

Life

Ni Yulan was 18 years as a lawyer and took on many political cases of complaints and protests egen the demolition of their homes. Before the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, she was a victim of expropriation, as you compensation in Beijing demolished her home and she subsequently sentenced to two years imprisonment. In connection with the protests in China, she was arrested again on April 7, 2011. In April 2012, was sentenced to a prison term of two years and eight months because of " disturbing the peace and destruction of property " Ni Yulan from the Xicheng District People's Court in Beijing. Her husband received a two year sentence in the same process. Due to physical abuse and inadequate medical care during a police custody in 2002 Ni Yulan is now confined to a wheelchair.
