Niall McGinn

Niall McGinn ( born July 29, 1987 in Donaghmore ) is a Northern Irish football player at the position of midfielder. He currently plays for Aberdeen FC in the Scottish Premier League, the highest Scottish league.

Career

McGinn began his career at the Dungannon Swifts in his native Northern Ireland. In his first full season 2007/ 08 he was in the top Northern Irish league with the team tenth. In the season before McGinn could already taste of international air as he competes with Dungannon in the Intertoto Cup. In the game against the representative of Iceland Keflavik IF, the midfielder played until 69 minutes before he was replaced with Mark Scott. In the winter of 2008/ 09 he moved to Derry City in the Irish highest league. At the end of the season, third place was occupied, and then McGinn joined in the defection period 2009/10 to Celtic Glasgow to Scotland. His debut in the Scottish Premier League gave the Northern Ireland September 12, 2009 against Dundee United when he was substituted in the 79th minute against Koki Mizuno. Also in the 2009/10 Europa League season he was used.

International played McGinn met six times for Northern Ireland. He made his debut on 19 November 2008 in the friendly match against Hungary in Belfast. The game was lost 0-2, McGinn came on in the 55th minute for Michael Duff.
