Niçard dialect
Nissart is one in Nice ( France) and ambient variety spoken of the Occitan language and forms together with the Provencal of the Rhone Valley ( rhodanien ), the maritime Provencal ( maritime) and the Alpinprovenzalischen ( Gavot ) the subset in the narrow sense Provencal, namely in the Provence spoken dialects of Occitan.
Due to the history of the county of Nice, which was separated administratively from the Provence 1388-1860, the nizzardische language contains archaic forms of expression from the Middle Ages, there was in the altprovenzalischen language, and by historical influences of their official languages and Italian and French are marked.
Cultural associations and groups such as Le théâtre de niçois Francis Gag, Lou Rodou Nissart, Lou Corou de Berra and Belugada endeavor to preserve the language alive.
